CHIEF ISRAEL TOM ASEMINASO
Born into a middle class family of Mr. & Mrs. Tom Aseminaso in Adetumaro War Canoe House, Agbabiri – Kirike Town in the present day Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State in the Mid 1970s, Chief Israel Aseminaso is passionate for the development of his community as a vibrant community leader who finds pleasure in the growth of youths and had contributed to the peace of his community and beyond.
Chief Aseminaso is the Project Director of the Community Reforms Initiative a.k.a THE COMMUNITY PROJECT, a community based non-governmental organization charged with the responsibility of creating platforms for self-awareness and intellectual growth among youths in the rural communities in Rivers state. The Community Project, he currently head as Project Director, organize weekly programs tagged “The Community lecture series” where youths from the ages of 12 – 35 years are clustered together for lectures in areas covering leadership, personal development, conflict resolution and civil responsibilities etc. The organization also organized open seminars, talk-shows and interactive projects which encourages decent living in society. It recently organized a program tagged “Break out and Break Off” a program that speaks against social vices like cultism and drug abuse with a recorded attendance of over 800 youths from different churches and communities from the various waterfronts in Port Harcourt.
Chief Israel Tom Aseminaso is a Board Member and Director of Finance, Chicoco Media Initiative, owners of the Chicoco Radio raising discontent over poverty, continuing discrimination, violence against women and children.
He also works as Administrative Secretary in the Law firm of Thompson Okpoko & Partners, a position he had held for over 15 years. Chief Aseminaso is the Chief and Traditional Head Darick Polo, Tonipirima Ama, Port Harcourt and also the Amabipi of Obumuton-Chiri Kingdom,, an area comprising the southern part of Port Harcourt with well over 13 Amas, which position allows him to partner and work with law enforcement agencies, youths, community leaders to promote peace through various means including traditional arbitration and reconciliation.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Accountancy from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University in 2005. He is happily married to Mrs. Peace Aseminaso and the marriage is blessed with five children – two boys and three girls.
